What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, and improve overall health. Exercises are performed either on a mat or on specially designed equipment. Pilates not only enhances your physical health but also benefits your mind. Every exercise is designed to improve your breathing, proper form, and efficient movement patterns.
Why Pilates?
Pilates focuses on the whole body, both inner and outer. Concentrating on the core, it improves balance, increases coordination, and decreases stress. The exercises are relatively safe for all ages and help support day-to-day movements.

When are you ready for Intermediate and Advanced classes?
At Four, we highly recommend starting with a beginner’s class so that our instructor can assess your fitness level, competency, and potential for growth in our studio. After we review these items, we can provide feedback on whether you’re ready for Intermediate or Advanced.
Intermediate Level: This is a smooth transition between Beginner and Advanced classes. It allows beginner-level clients to add some variety and challenge to their workouts. It’s also a great restorative and bonus to a long week of workouts for the advanced clients.
Advanced Level: This class is designed for our Pilates experts. They’re great at listening to cues, understanding your body’s stability, and executing advanced Pilates moves. They also have a lot of energy.
